Held By Evil is the debut full-length album from Burial Ruthless, the Spain-based technical death metal band originally formed in Venezuela. The record dives deep into themes of corruption, oppression, psychological collapse, and the destruction of human identity, unfolding across 11 tracks as a dark conceptual journey fueled by violence, fear, and manipulation.

Blending progressive brutal death metal with technical precision, Burial Ruthless balances chaotic complexity with the raw aggression of old-school death metal. The result is a modern, oppressive sound built on intense atmospheres, unpredictable structures, and relentless brutality.

Tracks such as “Demons Within” and “Mutilated Mind” showcase the band’s disturbing identity through savage riffs, crushing rhythmic shifts, and emotionally destructive passages. Throughout the album, the music constantly shifts between suffocating atmosphere and uncompromising violence, reinforcing the record’s lyrical focus on individuals consumed by systems of control and suffering.

Degenerated est un groupe italien de death metal appartenant à la scène underground extrême. Leur style est un death metal classique et brutal, avec des influences rappelant la scène old-school des années 1990. Le groupe s’est formé en Italie au sein de la scène metal underground, un environnement riche en groupes de death et de brutal qui s’est développé principalement entre la fin des années 1990 et les années 2000.

Leur son se caractérise par : des riffs très lourds et rapides, des growls profonds, une batterie en blast beat, ainsi que des structures de morceaux agressives et directes.

Les influences les plus probables proviennent du death metal classique et brutal, dans la lignée de groupes tels que : Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel et Suffocation.

Formation : Le nouvel album est interprété par Buzz (le seul membre de la formation originale des années 90), le cerveau du projet, avec des voix extrêmes, des guitares 8 cordes, la batterie et les synthés. On retrouve également Savior Calabro aux arrangements et aux effets spéciaux, issu de Glacial Fear et collaborateur avec Voivod, ainsi qu’Emi Dattolo à la basse.
